Witch's Hat Show Moved to Right Right
April 18, 2008

KTRM is hosting Witch's Hat for Edge Week tonight.

The band is great, the show is free, and it's at Right Right Records because of the rain.

Don't miss this.
Pitchfork Hearts Sissy Wish
March 17, 2008

Lately it seems those uber-hip indie music czars at Pitchfork can't help touting bands just as Kirksvillain is bringing them to town.

This time it's a stellar write-up of Bergen, Norway's Sissy Wish, who play The DuKum Upp this Saturday, March 22 (with Come to Japan).

The upshot: "She wants to dance, damnit, and she wants you dancing with her."

Advance Tickets available at Washington St. Java Co. and Vintage Grooves (the vinyl and CD shop across from the Kirksville Post Office).

Help Wisely
March 17, 2008

Wisely, who's played a couple of great gigs here at the DuKum, is gunning for a spot on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

If you'd like to help, send him an e-mail with the subject line "Why Kimmel Should Book Wisely" and a message that starts something like "You should book Wisely on your show because . . ."

Send the e-mails with your name and town to wwisely [at] mac.com by midnight Tuesday (tomorrow).

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks
January 19, 2008

Many thanks to everyone who came out to see Wisely, to Dillon for running sound, to Sparky for her fine work at the door, to the great folks at the DuKum for hosting the show, and to Wisely for a fantastic set.

If you didn't have a chance to pick up a Wisely CD, we'll have copies at Kirksvillain CDs in Vintage Grooves (across from the post office) later this week.

Wisely Podcast
January 11, 2008

Head on over to How Was The Show to hear a great Wisely podcast about his new self-titled disc Wisely.

He plays a bunch of songs, talks about recording with Paul McCartney's lead guitarist Rusty Anderson on the new CD, and explains how Jenna Fischer ended up starring in his video for "Through Any Window."

And, as you might have heard, he'll be at The DuKum this Friday, January 19 with The Last Minute Jazz Quartet opening.
