Sponsored by Please Please Please

Please Please Please presents their 100th concert. The first one was July of 2005, and they've played 98 since, from Kirksville, all the way to Texas, to Michigan, any many places in between! (Sheboygan, WI anyone?..)

In that time they've also had the chance to share the stage with many great bands, including The Appleseed Cast, Unwed Sailor, Ha Ha Tonka, Romantica, Every Avenue, Barn Owl, Theodore, Ike Reilly, Tubring, Poison Control Center, and so many more.

In that time they have also released two full length albums: S/T (2006) and Naipotu (2007), as well as an EP titled Seasons (2006). They will go into the studio in a couple of months to track their third full length.

Haven't heard the band yet? Where have you been? Often compared to a mix of Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Explosions in the Sky, Appleseed Cast, Godspeed You Black Emperor.

The ever glorious Engaged will open. Though they are worth the admission alone. P3 has probably played more shows with Engaged than any other band, not to mention they are some of our very best friends. They will be doing a special full band show.

Come out and celebrate with us, and even hear some brand spankin 'new songs that have never been played live!! Even if you have seen all 99 shows prior, Please Please Please would greatly appreciate your presence.

The doors will open at 8pm. Engaged will take the stage at 8:30, and Please Please Please will hit it at 9:15.

Special note. want in FREE!?!?? Send a message to jjm4864@truman.edu, or message Jeremy on facebook. If you let us borrow a television, you can come in free. we need 20-30. It doesn't have to work well, but it needs to turn on and display something; even static works

As of today, Kirksville Rocks has been live for 3 years!

Thanks everyone in the Kirksville area for your immense support. This is just the start.

Lately it seems those uber-hip indie music czars at Pitchfork can't help touting bands just as Kirksvillain is bringing them to town.

This time it's a stellar write-up of Bergen, Norway's Sissy Wish, who play The DuKum Upp this Saturday, March 22 (with Come to Japan).

The upshot: "She wants to dance, damnit, and she wants you dancing with her."

Advance Tickets available at Washington St. Java Co. and Vintage Grooves (the vinyl and CD shop across from the Kirksville Post Office).

Wisely, who's played a couple of great gigs here at the DuKum, is gunning for a spot on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

If you'd like to help, send him an e-mail with the subject line "Why Kimmel Should Book Wisely" and a message that starts something like "You should book Wisely on your show because . . ."

Send the e-mails with your name and town to wwisely [at] mac.com by midnight Tuesday (tomorrow).

Thanks in advance for your help!

The Pine Hill Haints got a great Pitchfork review for their new CD Ghost Dance and they're playing the DuKum Friday, February 29.

This'll be a hootenanny.
